This class
would introduce us to the seekers, discuss the class requirements, define
what a coven is, talk about the purposes of a coven, define the difference
between a coven and other pagan groups, discuss how to pick a coven, and
discuss ritual participation and & Conduct, and will discuss types of
coven structures, roles in a traditional coven, specialties in a coven.
Homework: Define the perfect coven, being very
specific, include the characteristics of the members, what the covenstead looks like, and define your role in the coven.

Belief.” Discuss myth and fact
regarding the neo-pagan movement known as Wicca. Discuss the military chaplain’s insert on
what the government considers to be Wicca.
Go over the Wiccan Rede.

Homework:
Look at either the Military Chaplin’s insert or the 1974 Council of
American Witches’ principles of Wiccan Belief and critic it. Is this really who you, as a wiccan,
are? What is the same and what is
different.

Will discuss British Traditional Wicca, Gardnerian tradition, Alexandrian tradition, 1734, Fairy
Tradition, Kitchen Witch, Ceremonial Witchcraft, Dianic
tradition, Seac Wica
(Raymond Buckland). Will also talk
about Theban script, its history and uses.
Homework: Write your name
in Theban script.

Goddess aspects
|
Will talk about the aspects of Goddess, the Triple
Goddess, Roles, and how they have changed, Goddess and the Moon Phases. Read and handout the poem, “I am She…” Read
and discuss “Goddess Grace” Read in a circle.
Homework:
Critic the poem, “I am She…” Identify, line by line, the aspect of the
Goddess that is represented. Talk to
the Moon every night.

God aspects
|
Discuss the faces of the God (Son, Lover, Horned God, Gods
of Wisdom, Gods of the Moon, Sun Gods, Vegetation Gods, Warrior Gods, Craftsmen Gods).
Discuss concepts of deity and concepts of masculine deity. Compare God and Goddess aspects, what is
the same and what is different. How
do we need both of these to be whole?
Read and discuss “God Grace”
Homework: Find
3 things in nature that represent an aspect of God to you…bring them to class
and be prepared to share.
Where did you come from?
What is your version of creation?
Talk to the Sun every morning.

Creation myths
|
Discuss various creation myths…where did we come
from? Will discuss Ravenscry
tradition, Witchy’s creation myth, Gospel of the
Witches, and the Faery tradition.
Homework: Handout re questions about
the creation myths.
Write a report on one pantheon’s concept of creation myth…should
be 3 to 5 pages.

Reincarnation & Karma
|
What are some of the concepts of reincarnation and
karma? Discuss the 3-fold law
here. Discuss What happens when we
die? Is there “punishment for
sins?”
Homework: What
is your concept of reincarnation and karma?

Quiz. Finish up
8-week reports. Go over classes for
next 8 weeks. Potluck dinner to

Introduction
Eight week assignment:
to be discussed at the last class:
pick either one God or one Goddess and write a brief report (3 to 5
pages) including who they are, how they are worshiped, what pantheon they are
from, and how they interact with other deity from the same pantheon.
