Wolfwyndd; The Name

Way back in 1989, I was doing a self-meditation. As I drifted off, I saw that I was standing in woods. Around me was a warm, green forest. The weather was sunny, but I was so deep in the woods that it was warm and moist. I was standing on all fours, my ears cocked back listening to the sounds of the forest, and my paws were standing in the middle of a path. I closed my eyes and saw myself as a gray wolf. I could smell the deer nearby and I instinctually sniffed the ground. I was on their path. I looked up and saw it winding through the woods. Around one turn, around another, over the brook, through the trees it wound. I followed my nose. They were close, I could ‘feel’ them. I could ‘sense’ them. As I followed their path, their scent got stronger, and stronger. I could smell their fear. They knew I was coming, and I was coming after them. I could hear their rustling around the trail, leaves crunching under their hooves. I was getting closer and the pace quickened. I still couldn’t see them and they couldn’t see them, but we both knew I was after them. The path split and so did they. Which way should I go? I had to make a decision. I briefly reached out to feel them and sensed that one was closer then the others. I followed the closest one, intent on catching him. My instincts kicked in and the pace quickened along with my heartbeat. The race was on. My paws were practically flying across the ground, barely touching it. The trees were flying by in a blur and I was dodging and weaving, following the path, following the fear, following the scent. I was in bloodlust. I still couldn’t see him but I could feel he was close. I could hear him running for his life. The scent and fear was heavy on the ground. His hooves pounding ahead of me, just around the corner, but still out of sight, until I rounded the corner. There in front of me was the stag. A beautiful horned creature, hooves pounding in front of me. I was slowly gaining on him. He bounded across a stream, water flying everywhere. His hooves just in front of my face. My teeth snapping at his heels. As he bounded over a fallen tree, I had him. I used my momentum and height to launch myself at the back of his neck. I wrapped my front paws around him and sunk my teeth into his neck. The blood spurted out the corners of my mouth, trickling down my throat. The blood energized me even more then the chase had. He was kicking a screaming for life. His life. I dug my teeth in deeper and shook my head violently. His neck snapped in my jaws but his legs still kicked wildly behind him. As we feel to the ground in a heap, his head lopped limply to the side. I sucked deeply and let his blood slip down my throat. I stood over him, victorious that I had caught the creature. His blood was mine, his life was mine, he was mine. I stood over him with the blood staining my fur. His blood and life coursed through my veins. As I looked up, there   was a beautiful woman with long flowing hair and ice blue eyes. She looked directly into my eyes and looked deep into my soul. I heard her speak. More with her mind, then her voice. She looked at me and said, "congratulations, you’ve won. You’ve beaten the deer and he’s yours. You will be rewarded." My heart was still beating rapidly. My breath ragged, my paws sore from running. I looked at her and she smiled again. As my breath calmed and I looked around, I started to see again the room around me. She was no longer standing in front of me, but my wife was. Her eyes were still there though. In my mind I heard her say to me, "from now you, you will be known as Wolfwyndd. You will be mine forever, and I will be yours forever." From that moment on, I have known who I am, and what I am. I am Wolfwyndd.
